Global Youth Summit Ankara 2011

General Information

Global Youth Summit 2011 is going to be proudly held by TED Ankara College Foundation High School, for the fourth time on the 25th-29th April 2011. This outstanding session will gather high school students from all over the world providing an overall understanding between nations or different cultural backgrounds. Our delegates come from the top schools of their countries, creating a fruitful debating experience for all participants and giving the chairs leadership experiences.

Participants in the first GYS that was held in 2008 experienced a marvellious session of EYP within a diverse and huge group of fellow delegates. The second and third GYS, held in 2009 and 2010, had a similar diverse group of delegates, again enjoying a fruitful and magnificent session, with even more professional organization.

The official languages of the session will be English and French. We have seen that the dominant language of the session, from our experience is usually English, though using French or English is equally encouraged.

During the conference, students aged 14-18 from all around the world, working in teams, will have the opportunity to get together and discuss global issues and try to find solutions to current pressing world issues. The participants will not only enhance their knowledge of world politics, but will also have the chance to build tolerance towards cultural diversity.

In an era which has been marked by a tremendous lack of communication and tolerance, the need for students to have their negotiation and dialogue skills must be one of the highest priorities of today's educators. This event will definitely set the groundwork for our students not only to learning by doing, but will also enhance their understanding of global issues.

Location Of GYS '11

The Global Youth Summit will take place in Ankara, which is the capital of Turkey with a rich cultural and a long historical background. Since ancient times, Ankara has been a center for trade and a significant market for production; although it was a city less than 30.000 population in those years. However, after playing an important role, and being a west-east synthesis in many ways, Ankara began to lose its importance for the Ottomans in the eigteenth century as the capital in those times.

dar e vorba de incrierea cu scoala..si automat trebuie implicata si scoala..

Din cate am citit inscrirea este individuala... dar poate am omis ceva, pentru ca am trecut destul de repede prin regulament. Daca scrie ceva de scoala spune-mi unde, te rog, si incerc sa aflu ce si cum

aici pentru registration form imi cere datele scolii..si la e-mail persoana de contact trect e-mailul meu sau al cuiva de la scola?

Cred ca pentru datele scolii sunt interesati doar sa fii inscrisa la o institutie de invatamant, iar persoana de contact ar trebui sa fie un profesor sau secretariatul, pentru a putea confirma ca esti eleva acolo; in alt mod, nu vad cum ar putea fi implicat liceul; cu toate acestea, daca iti doresti un parteneriat intre liceu si organizatori (care sunt tot un liceu, din cate am observat) le-ai putea trimite un mail cu aceasta propunere
